Mets make Marlins seasick

Marlins pick up Burnett, but can't notch win over Mets

The Fish scored three in the eighth, and had a runner on second with no outs in the ninth, but couldn't complete their rally. Jim Mecir gave up a run in the bottom of the eighth that proved to be the game-winner. Two Mike Lowell errors in the fifth unnerved A.J. Burnett and led to three unearned runs.

Woodward helps lift Mets to wild win over Marlins

The Mets endured five lead changes, the last of which came on Chris Woodward's RBI single in the eighth. New York capitalized on Florida's miscues in the fifth, scoring three unearned runs on two errors, a wild pitch and a bases-loaded walk.
